Learning to read is a crucial aspect of every child’s education. Being able to read confidently and fluently enables a child to access all areas of the curriculum and gives them a better chance at being a successful learner.
As a school, we work closely in partnership with parents to develop the reading of all children at Holy Rosary. We are working hard to develop a culture of ‘reading for pleasure’, where children choose to read and thoroughly enjoy doing so.
In this section, you will find useful materials to help you support your child’s reading development at home, including lists of high quality recommended texts to read in each year group.
